FREE Initial Meeting With A Business Accountant Based In Perth

To get started working with our business accountants, we need to arrange a Get To Know Each Other meeting.

Book Now

This is a free meeting (businesses only) that is typically around an hour in length and helps us both determine if we are a good fit.

Clients We Work Best With

A couple of the main things to think about as to whether we would be the right fit are:

  1. Do you want the confidence and peace of mind of going with high-quality accountants and business advisors?
  2. Do you already generate $1million+ in revenue, or do you plan to grow your business to $1million+ in revenue? (We help businesses with $0 to $100m+ turnover.)

If the answer to both those questions is yes, then we are most likely a great fit, no matter what stage of business you are in.

Price For Future Services

Typically, from here it is less about “can we help you” given you’ll find out during our meeting that we definitely can, it’s more about “do you want to pay for high-quality advice and assistance?”

We’re quite upfront about this and hopefully you can appreciate we bring up price early in our correspondence for the simple purpose of making sure neither of us are wasting our time if you’re not willing to pay for our premium service offering – As a high-quality accounting and business advisory service provider we have a minimum annual price of $3,000.

Trying to keep this topic short, we have a fair pricing policy (click the link to see the menu of prices too), which in essence is about saying we offer a premium accounting service and want to work with clients who want this. If that’s you, then we look forward to helping you grow your business well into the future with wealth protected and taxes legally minimised.

More about the specifics of the meeting are below.

Meeting Agenda

The meeting can take place in-person at our Perth headquarters, or if you’re located elsewhere in Australia then we can also do the meeting over Zoom.

During the meeting we typically cover these items:

  1. We obtain your consent to record the meeting. This is for quality control and efficiency. We use secure AI software to help prepare meeting notes, which allows us after the meeting to more quickly respond to what you need.
  2. We discuss your expectations of the meeting to align on what we will and won’t address during the meeting.
  3. We let you know that no question is off limits and please interrupt us if we’re not making sense. We know that tax and accounting can be complex and whilst we always try our best to make things understandable, we appreciate that it’s difficult to understand and we’re more than happy to explain things in different ways and several times to help you understand.
  4. We let you tell your story – what are you planning, what’s your situation and goals, and what challenges would you like our help with.
  5. We’ll add our experienced insights to help you understand how we can help you with those matters.
  6. We can provide a short history about Munro’s, what our firm stands for and what clients say about us.
  7. We will outline our recommendations of how to proceed after the initial meeting.
  8. We will check back in to see if you agree that expectations of the meeting have been satisfied and ensure you don’t leave uncertain of what will happen next.

Before the Meeting

To allow us to best prepare for the meeting and assign to an appropriate accountant, we request the following information about the business and your/owner’s circumstances:

  1. What are the main reasons for you seeking our help? What help do you want from us?
  2. What does the business do?
  3. Who are the owners?
  4. What is the business structure? Sole trader / partnership / family trust / unit trust / company?
  5. How much revenue do you make/anticipate making on an annual basis?
  6. What profit do you make/anticipate making on an annual basis?
  7. How many employees do you have/anticipate having?
  8. How much of the owner’s money has/is going to be injected into the business?
  9. Are you taking out a loan? If so, approximately how much? Do you have equity in assets (e.g. real estate) to use as security for the loan?
  10. What, if any, other income do the owners and their partners (e.g. wife/husband/spouse) make on an annual basis and from what (e.g. employment/rentals/investments)?
  11. What assets do the owners and their partners own, including the approximate value and amount of any associated loans?
  12. What are your medium to long-term plans for the business(es)?

If you could also please provide a copy of your most recently completed financial statements that will be helpful.

After the Meeting

After the initial meeting, if we both want to work together, then we typically get to work on fully scoping the services you need and agreeing to a mutually beneficial engagement agreement with clear pricing terms for the first 12 months.

We look forward to meeting with you soon.

Just met these guys on an initially consultation call. Can’t speak highly enough about them in the short time I’ve used their services. Their advice on the call and their follow up afterwards is the best I’ve seen. Highly recommend and looking forward to the continuing relationship. Thanks a lot Drew and Cherie.

Drew is absolutely amazing and very informative regarding tax purposes.
If you are a NZ citizen and not already an Australian citizen, then you need to book a time with Drew.

It was a breath of fresh air speaking with Drew as our previous accountants could not relay a definitive answer for some of the questions we had, and Drew answered it without a second thought.

Seeking information regarding tax can be a daunting subject and not everyone explains it in Layman’s term, and that’s where Drew fits that topic.

Definitely gained a couple more clients and has definitely earnt our business going forward.

    Thanks Drew 👍🏾

Munro’s have been our accountants, both for business and personal, for 50 years.  During that time we have been really happy with the work done for us.  The personel have always been professional, welcoming and efficient form the person at the front desk who greets you, to the people who handle your work.

Congratulations and best wishes for the future.

PS It does help that Simon supports the right footy team but he is not as good at tipping as he is at accounting!

Munros have been doing my family tax returns for the past 3 years, and I’ve been nothing but delighted with the service they’ve offered. They took on a relatively complex set of returns, including sharing of CGT benefits between myself and my partner, and did exactly what I hoped they’d do, and more. Not only that, they always went above and beyond to explain what they have done and why, keeping us happy and at ease at all times during the tax return processes.

And to top it off, their knowledge of the crypto space is phenomenal, as are the tools they’ve developed to report and get the best possible returns with cryptos in mind.

Give them a try, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Accountant Drew was very helpful with a detailed insight to capital gains tax and reset period shall we sell our property. Drew contacted five minutes after I enquired to the office and followed up with this assessment

The tax tribunal has said that a common-sense assessment applies when considering the varying number of factors and even conflicting circumstances when determining if a house is someone’s main residence. In your case, the Bunbury house may have become your main residence for that short eight week stay if you moved a great deal of personal belonging there. However, a common-sense assessment likely suggests it did not become your main residence (at least on the facts that I know). If it didn’t become your main residence, then the maximum period you can claim the property as your main residence for the period since 2018 is 6 years. I.e. 2018-2014. For the period 2024 onwards, the main residence exemption cannot apply. You could, however, move back in and re-establish it as your main residence and then move out and rent again, which would restart the absentee rule. However, you still would not get the main residence exemption for the period 2024 to the time you moved back in because the maximum 6 years has expired for this current period of absence.

The team at Munro’s is extremely knowledgeable, professional, helpful and affordable and Drew in particular is a guru when it comes to anything that involves tax. We highly recommend the team at Munro’s and we are very grateful for their support over the last 10 years. Sincere thanks from the owners at HiscoNFE!

I engaged Munro’s on line owing to the fact that they claimed a specialisation in share trading. I am not a professional trader, however I presented Munro’s with a complex set of circumstances ranging over a 5-6 year period. To say I was delighted with their level of expertise and professionalism would be an understatement. I reside in Victoria and Munro’s is in WA, so this matter was dealt with entirely on line. The accounting professional that looked after my matter was one of the most helpful service providers I have recently encountered, going as far as assisting with my rather rudimentary IT skill. This firm, through the diligent work of the previously mentioned accounting professionals turned what I thought, was a dire Tax situation into a win for me. I cannot rate this firm highly enough, two other firms wanted me to jump through all sorts of hoops, Munro’s did a magnificent job, with little fuss and all on line. I publicly extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the person that looked after my matter.
